How I Received the Holy Spirit Essay - 769 Words

Seeing eight of my brothers and sisters super excited made me disappointed about myself. I remeber those days when my elders were coming home with smiles on their faces which made me cry, I was really happy for them and was wishing I could share their happiness as well but, I could not. I did not had what they had. I didnt even know what it was, that they are really happy about. Finally I asked them why they were so happy about and they told me they got a gift from God himself. I couldn’t understand how that was possible. I wanted to be happy too so I just wished that I will receive that gift from God as well. In the beginning of November 2011, my sunday school teacher Yuriy prepared a lesson for us students about Holy Spirit. He also†¦show more content†¦I thought it was useless. A year and four months passed, since that day when we were kindly rejected on our wish. That day in March the 8th, my brother told me that anyone who would want Holy Spirit are welcome to get it, next Friday the pastors and the youth are willing to pray for us. I told my brother Ivan and my cousin Natasha about it, so we would be ready on Friday to get it. I was a nervous wreck the whole week, I thought I might be rejected again, that I might not get it, but I prayed so hard so I still had some hopes and faith that I will get in on March 15, 2013. Finally that Friday came, during sunday school, we asked our teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Kolesnikov, to leave Sunday School for like 30 minutes. We did not tell them that we will go to pastors to confess our sins. I was the very first to go up to them and called my old teacher Yuriy to call his dad, who was the pastor, to pray with us. When he heard the news his whole face lit up, and he went to get his dad, because we were so nervous, especiall y me, who was afraid to be rejected, but praise the Lord, I wasn’t. So all of us were NOT rejected. After some time, we went back to our class, I felt really light and happy that I was not rejected. But then some thoughts came and I thought that God won’t give me the gift, but I had a lot of faith. So after Sunday School we finally told our class that we might get Holy Spirit, and invited them to go confess and have Holy Spirit too.Show MoreRelatedAn Open Mind As The Holy Spirit1232 Words   |  5 Pages The Holy Spirit is another Comforter, Teacher, and Reminder. Health Care And The United States - 1265 Words

Health care has come a very long way since the earlier years, and still has a lot of improving to do. Health care can be very complex and frustrating, but has become a bit more manageable compared to the past. Hospitals today are a lot different then how they were years ago. Many hospitals are making medical advances to help people live longer, healthier lives. Health care is one of the most important benefits to a persons’ life. There are so many things affecting the health of people all around the world, both positive and negative. Canada and the United States health care systems are not perfect and needs some change for the better of the people. Healthcare in these countries are affected by differences in universal coverage, gender and†¦show more content†¦and Schmid, A. 2008).† In contrast, the United States established the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which was implemented to improve access to health, improve quality of health, and make health care more affor dable. Historically, Americans were treated with medicinal herbs and anecdotal information in their homes. Doctors were sole decision makers about admissions, length of stay, resource use, and referrals. The U.S health care system changed by having hospital fiscal penalties for lengths of stay, admissions require payer approval, and readmissions carry penalties. As well as, people are getting treated in hospitals, primary care office, and rehabs, instead of their homes. Having access to hospitals, and getting treated with these new drugs and new technologies, one would think that everyone would get the same kind of health care. However, gender and ethnic disparities contribute to many individuals having access to health care. Access to health is the determinant factor of the health disparities. â€Å"In the United States disparities are well documented in minority populations such as African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Hispanics, all of which constitute twen ty eight percent of the population (McHenry, G.).† Ethnic disparities, indicators include social justice, economic realities, shifting census, and disease burden. Latinos tend to have low access to care and language barriers effecting both access and quality care. Studies show that

Business with Mobile Computing-Free-Samples-Myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Reseach the Opportunities Making Business with Mobile Computing. Answer: The business Research was done on the opportunities making business with Mobile computing. Mobile computing is the emerging technology which allows the transmission of data and voice through electronic devices without any physical connection. This is a very interesting topic and has provided with many insights which proves how it is beneficial for the businesses of today. My individual reflection journal with the completion of this business research is given below: Week 1: This week is dedicated for the planning. Planning is very important to conduct the whole research process successfully (Gristy, 2015). I arranged a meeting with my mentor to learn about the formats and processes to be followed in the research. My mentor also guided me for the setting of objectives and questions of the research topic. They guided me how I should take the research further and earn good grades in my course. I scheduled my research which developed time management skills in me which is very fruitful for the personal and professional life of an individual. Week 2: The plans made are implemented in this week. The questions are made and the objectives of the research are identified. The research is the process which needs analysis skills. These skills are used throughout the research project. In this week I planned about the sources of data collection because it is very important to collect the data only from the genuine sources and the ones which are related to the research. I planned that the data will be collected from primary and secondary sources and identified the most appropriate sources out of the available ones. This taught me how to analyse the best out of the available resources and how to make best use of them (Ryan ebrary, 2012). Week 3 and 4: In week 3, I collected the data from primary sources. For this, I learned to prepare the survey questionnaire and communicated with various professionals in the field of mobile computing to know about its role in business. This has encouraged me to talk to people and improved my communication skills. This has also brought an improvement in my interpersonal skills and motivated me to go out in the market and face different challenges. Talking to people is not an easy task; it needs courage to handle different behaviour of people (Carrington, Suzanne Selva, 2010). In week 4, I referred different secondary sources like articles and other internet sources to collect the information about the topic and analyse them to know the actual opportunities business have with mobile computing. This step has provided me with immense knowledge and information. This has cultivated a habit of knowing more and grasping knowledge in me. I started craving for more and more knowledge so that I could gain more about the topic and can make my research better. The collection of data has made me more active than before and I learned how to manage time as per the requirements of the project. This would help me not only for completing this project on time but also in future to accomplish the tasks on time (Roberts, 2017). Week 5: In this week, I learned how to analyse the huge data which has been collected in the previous weeks. The data is been collected will be analysed through various statistical tools. I learned how understanding should be developed on the data and what all implications this data have on the research. This has also developed many project management skills in me. It developed time management, best resource utilisation, good management, effective organisation and delegation of work in me. These all qualities are required by a good manager in the highly competitive corporate field. If these skills will be developed properly then it will help me to function effectively in future (Lewis, 2013). Week 6: In this week, I arranged all the data and analysis of it. Discussions are been carried on the final analysis and findings which will make the conclusions for the research and will resolve the problems of the research. The research is a process which teaches many qualities required for a successful professional life and a good personal life. This has taught a good problem solving skill and critical analysis of the data and findings. The research taught me how I can research more about the topic and developed innovative thinking and development in me (Forrest, 2008). To summarise, I can say that this research process has gave me a good learning experience which would help me in completing my course successfully with good marks. This would also help me in accomplishing my career goals. The theoretical knowledge learned in the whole process is applied practically and these insights will be used in future by applying the innovative ideas and skills in the job (Lucas, 2012). This will make me competent for a getting a good position in my job. I heard people, listened to their views and ideas, I saw people growing with the mobile computing by grabbing the opportunities. These all activities contributed to my learning process and this business research is very useful for my learning process. It is because the experiences I gained during this process can be used in future. Like, the during data collection I met various people, leaders and owners of businesses and I learned how to take your job role to a new level by handling various resources efficientl y. I learned how these skills can take a business to a good position in the global competitive business environment. This research process was a great inspiration for me as it introduced me to many people and made me able to take up different challenges which not only improved my thinking but also improved my life as a professional. I am now able to present myself and my research confidently in the front of evaluators and will be able to score good marks and comments from them. This project will also help me to get a good job after my studies (Toros, K Medar, 2015). References Carrington, Suzanne B Selva (2010). We Live In A Society That Drinks Heavily, And This Influences Teens. M

We live in a society that drinks heavily, and this influences teens. Most Americans use alcohol to celebrate wedding anniversaries, to welcome the New Year, and to enjoy many other special events. Alcohol is a legal drug for people over the age of twenty-one. By the time most teens reach senior high school, nearly all will have faced a choice about whether or not to take a drink. Although this drug is illegal for teenage use a large percentage of teens use alcohol. Many teens die in automobile accidents, which could have prevented if they had chosen to say no. Each year it is blame in the deaths of more than four thousand teens (Claypool, p. 42). No crime kills more teenagers in America. Kids who are drinking regularly in high school seem to be fully aware of the penalties and laws against underage drinking, possession but don't care. They agree that driving while intoxicated is a key role in fatal car accidents, yet they still do it. Many teens also believe cold showers and coffee can sober up a person that is drunk Teens may drink for many different reasons. A big reason for teens to start to drink is because of problems in their family life. Teens could have a bad relationship with their parents or their parents could get in a fight or even get a divorce and thid could cause a drinking problem among their child. Many experts agree that the main reason teens are becoming alcoholics is low self-esteem. Sometimes these children have been neglected or abused which makes them feel unwanted or they have been pressured and feel worthless if they fail. They have to deal with problems that he is too immature to handle, or worries about problems, which are problems at all. Many kids drink to make them feel older and mature. It makes you more confident and sociable. Another cause of teenage drinking is escape from stress of school if they are overwhelmed with work or that they get really worried over slipping grades and that they just need to relax. Drinking will only make things worse. Many teens drink because of peer pressure or just to fit in. Kids may think that if they drink then they will fit in with the crowd and become more popular. Kids spend most of their spare time partying. The kid who doesn't take something to drink has a dozen friends all over him. This may be true for the first couple of times that you drink, but it begins to become a habit and soon you are not only drinking at parties but also drinking alone and that is a sign you need help. Teens drink for the effect. To get high, to rebel, to alter their feelings of their environment, if only temporary. One of the main reasons kids drink for effect is the freedom it gives them. A problem of drinking for effect is whatever age the child is when he starts depending on the effect of alcohol, that's the age they are when they have overcome there drinking problem. In other words, when a child is fourteen and starts drinking to become more social and relaxed, when he is eighteen he will still be fourteen socially (Coffey, p.62). Many adults fail to take teenage alcohol problems seriously because they believe that their teens are too young to worry about. To them the word alcoholic makes them think of a malnourished person who lives on the street. Many young people live in families where the use of alcohol is a part of normal life. Many parents who are drinkers themselves look past teenage drinking. They see drinking as a normal activity and part of growing up. Children of alcoholics are a high-risk group for alcoholism (Claypool, p.46). They are more likely to follow in their parent's footsteps. Few parents encourage their child to drink, but few see nothing wrong with occasionally drinking. Some parents are relieved when teens drink rather than smoke pot or do other drugs. Only when adults start regarding alcohol as a toxic drug can an effective alcohol education program for America's youth begin. By the time students are in seventh

Richard Avedon an Example of the Topic Personal Essays by

Richard Avedon Photography and painting are the same. Each renders imagination in tangible form. The difference is that painters can work completely from imagination, although most of us work from life as a starting point. Both can take lifetimes to master the tools to render imaginations exactly as we intend. (What is Photography?) Photography is a unique way to copy ones beauty, some memorable and happy moments and some many tragic incidents. Photography is a hard work. People think that only by pressing the flash button of a day light camera, they can easily and beautifully capture the most interesting moments. But when the results of those pictures come, they look ugly and the photographer is blamed for his non-professionalism. According to researchers and websites photography is the most hard and expensive course in the whole world. To teach and to learn photography is not a work of just interest but photography requires many things along interest such as concentration, interest and mind power such as handy techniques to handle a camera and capture beautiful scenes. Nowadays fashion photography is a demanded interest and it can be a way to earn handsome amount of money. Fashion photographers are in high demand nowadays in markets because today the world has moved so far that even to promote designs of a new ly open boutique or a market a separate fashion show is necessary. No to exquisite light, no to apparent compositions, no to the seduction of poses or narrative. And all these numbers force me to the yes. I have a white background. I have the person I am interested in and the thing that happens between us. (Richard Avedon: Comments) Richard Avedon was born on May 1923 and died on October 1, 2004. Avedon was a fine photographer who started his career with photography and later moved on to the field on fine arts. Besides that he wrote many books regarding photography and fine arts. After working in Harpers Bazaar he opened a separate studio of himself and later on he started selling his photographs to the magazines named Vogue and Life. Later on he was appointed as a chief photographer in the fashion magazine named Harpers Bazaar. But soon he left the job of Harpers Bazaar as he appointed by Vogue magazine to work under the capacity of a staff photographer. Along with his continuing fashion photography work, he also captured the scenes of patients residing in mental hospitals, drastic scenes of Vietnam War and the falling of the wall of Berlin. However Richard was a good photographer who carried or captured pictures of models with smiling faces, emotional faces and sometimes he also took and directed models according to the demand of the subject. During this period, Richard introduced a set of two interesting and attractive or beautiful portraits known as the Beatles. These were highly loved and appreciated by people. Rich ard when gained popularity from his photographic career he later made plans to switch over to fine arts. Avedon also loved to draw people growing in their teens and workers working in mines and in factories dealing with many tired faces and many clothes of those people who were wet in oil. He loved to put the shadow of his paintings towards the neglected people of the society. For this purpose many people helped him and soon in 1992 he was appointed as a first staff photographer in the New Yorker. After much of his success in 1993 he gained the International Center of Photography Master of Photography Award in 1993, and again in 1994 he won the Prix Nadar award for his photographic book Evidence and lastly he received the award ofRoyal Photographic Society 150th Anniversary Medal in 2003. As being a photographer none could succeed in equaling him even today because he was simply the best photographer of the century who is lost now but the world will ever remember him. Later on after his success in his career Richard married a very famous model named Dorcas Nowell who was later named as Doe Avedon in the fashion world. They got married in the year 1944 and soon after five years nearly in 1951 they got divorced and Richard married another woman. The name of that lady was Evylen Franklin. He also got separated with Franklin but they had one son named John. Avedon also had a nephew who was a martial arts super star whose name was Loren Avedon. In 1957, Hollywood presented a fictional movie on the account of his early career. The movie starred Fred Astaire as a fashion photographer named Dick Avery. For this purpose and the musical fictional production, Avedon supplied the producers with the image of Audrey Hepburns face only in which her best features which were he eyes, her eyebrows and her mouth are visible. In the late 1950s and 60s Avedon said about the unique and best portrait and about Hepburn that Hepburn has achieved in herself. No one can even thin of equaling her. She is an ultimate portrait and she is what she is in herself and no one can interpret her. She is a god-gifted creature who is the beauty of every camera. And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up. I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible. (Richard Avedon: Comments) Some of the famous, most loved, adorable and most appreciative photographs of the career of Richard Avedon are: In 1955 he captured a model through his camera named Dovima with Elephants. Later on in 1957 he took the photo of a famous actress Marilyn Monroe. Following the fame of those lovely pictures he was also offered and requested to photograph the President of the United States in 1964. He photographed the US president known as Dwight David Eisenhower. Then in 1967 he painted a beautiful set of two beautiful portraits known as the Beatles. In 1973 he further photographed Sly Stones, which was the cover of Fresh Album and due to the picture and its beauty it was named as Sly Stone. Lastly in 1981 he painted his last famous picture, which was Nastassja Kinski and Serpent. Besides his work and accomplishments, people have many reviews about him. One of them is Richard Avedon is a man with many masks. "Richard Avedon is a man with many masks: the American creator of dashing commercial images; the magician behind the sleekest magazine pages of the day...the ruthless exposer of social and political flummery; the maverick storyteller who made titans of America's underclass and mixed them in among his pantheon of actors, writers, poets, politicians and artists." (Irving, n.p.) Besides his interest in painting and fine arts, he also wrote many books. Some of them are stated below. His first book named Observations was compiled in 1959 and his partner in this book was Truman Capote. This book contains portraits of famous people of the twentieth century. His second book was Nothing Personal, which was written in collaboration with James Baldwin and the third one is a famous fantasy storybook named Alice in Wonderland. Doon Arbus helped him writing this book. In 1976 he writes another book named Portraits whose editions include those portraits book of 1947, 1977 and 1978. His next book was In the American West, written in 1985 and after that he told his life story and his whole struggling period through pictures and captions along those pictures in a book named An Autobiography written in 1993. Those pictures contain photos of many famous celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Judy Garland and Avedons parents. In 1994 he wrote another book named Evidence which contains more than 600 images sketched and camera captured by Avedon. Those pictures contain those of fashion photgraphy, journalistic images, sketches, real or natural images, images which are unseen by most of the people, that part of the society which has been neglected and under estimated throuugh many inhuman acts. However the book contains many pictures, but it polishes Avedons essays and his visual basics more than the pcitur es or images. In 1999, he wrote a book named The Sixties, in which his co-author was Doon Arbus. The book contains images of many famous figures. In 2001, hid book named Made in France was launched which forwarded the shadow on all those images belonging to the early 50s. His next book is also similar like that as its name suggests Richard Avedons Portraits, 2002. This book contains all those portraits of 50s and 60s. His last book which was compiled by Anne Hollander after his death in 2005 was named Woman in the Mirror. Richard Avedon was a man of art. He accomplished himself in every field he chose for himself. He expertise in the fields of photography and fine arts. Later on he compiled books on and of his portraits. This great man counted his last breath on October 1st, 2004. He died through brain hemorrhage in Texas. The world would never forget his accomplishments and his work, his dedication and his spirit for art. Even now, he is a great inspiration for beginners in the fields of art and photography as he was the one of the ten famous photographs of the world. Photography has always reminded me of the second childtrying to prove it. The fact that it wasnt really considered an artthat it was considered a craft has trapped almost every serious photographer. The Stone Angel essays

The Stone Angel essays In the novel, The Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence, it becomes quite evident that Hagar Shipleys inability to communicate is the source of the problems encountered in her life. It is this vicious quality that further enhances the inaccuracy of perception provided by Hagar. We will look at failed relationships of Hagars past regarding her brothers, her father Jason Currie, her husband Bram, and Hagars encounter with her realization of the truth. Even when Hagar was a young girl, her inability to communicate was easily recognizable. She was even then incapable of showing affection to others. In her young teens, Hagar was confronted with a situation she wasnt able to cope with emotionally. Dan Shipley, her older brother by four years, was dying and craved the comfort of their deceased mother. Matt, her eldest brother, begged and pleaded Hagar to put on their mothers shawl and hold Dan while he died. At the mention of this proposal, Hagar stiffened and and drew away her hands. Hagar is unable to do what is demanded of her: ...all I could think of was that meek woman Id never seen, that woman that Dan was said to resemble so much and from whom hed inherited a frailty I could not help but detest, however much a part of me wanted to sympathize. To play at being her it is beyond me. I cant Matt. I was crying, shaken by torments he never even suspected, wanting above all else to do the thing he asked, but unable to bend enough (page 25) Although Hagar believes she is successfully avoiding exposure of weakness on her part by holding back her emotions, she is only showing her weakness as a person, through lack of compassion for her dying brother. This experience with her brother Matt caused many disturbances in their future relationship,...

BP Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 5000 words

BP - Essay Example As well, a statistical review of the last 44 years reveals the urgency in addressing the problem of oil industry disasters. The research analysis reveals that there are multi-level and diverse impacts of the oil industry on environment. These impacts are the result of the routine operations of the industry as well as because of the accidents and disasters that occur due to negligence. It is also seen that while BP promotes itself as a green energy company, it is however involved in violating environmental and safety norms with disastrous results as can be seen in the case of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The research provides several recommendations like developing an international agency for formulating a framework for oil industries to make them more environmentally responsible; to develop more coordinated framework of monitoring the oil companies’ performance; to make it mandatory for the oil companies to show transparency about their standards and processes and projects; a nd to generate public awareness about full impact that oil industry has the potential of making to the environment.
